Your challenge

Your challenge is to ensure that projects and turnarounds deliver their intended value by maintaining control over scope, timing, and resources in a complex and dynamic environment. You keep an overarching view of multiple projects running in parallel and at different stages, providing structure, transparency, and focus. You are required to handle pressure from changing priorities and scope demands by applying a fact-based, risk-aware, and realistic portfolio approach.

Anticipating constraints in capacity and resources, you take timely corrective actions to safeguard agreed objectives. At the same time, you contribute to the further development and maturity of the projects and turnaround organization while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement aligned with the business strategy.

Your responsibilities

• Safety & Compliance: Ensure the development and implementation of HSE plans for projects and turnarounds, driving incident-free execution and full compliance with legal, corporate, and site-specific safety regulations.
• Turnaround Management: Lead turnarounds from preparation through execution and close-out, including multi-year shutdown planning, budgeting, resourcing, risk management, contractor alignment, and integration of complex projects within the turnaround schedule.
• Project Management: Lead the team of project managers, steer on OTIF execution of the projects portfolio, while contributing to value engineering.
• Functional Excellence & Continuous Improvement: Implement standardized work processes, turnaround methodologies, and best practices; ensure adherence to corporate policies while contributing to value engineering and knowledge management. You are keen to continuously identify opportunities to improve turnaround and project execution efficiency and effectiveness.
• People & Contractor Management: Lead, coach, and develop internal teams, and effective management of external service providers and contractors on site.
• Stakeholder management: Foster strong cross-functional and organization wide collaboration, build and maintain professional networks and contribute to the local turnaround community.

The Projects & Turnaround Manager will report to the Asset & Technology Manager.

Is this a challenge that matches your skills and ambitions? You enjoy solving complex challenges, and are not afraid to take initiative? To succeed in this role, you bring:

• BSC/MSC level in engineering or similar with 10+ years’ experience in projects and/or turnarounds.
• Proven experience within the function, managing turnaround budgets > €10 million and/or projects > €5 million.
• Strong project management experience.
• People and change management experience: Demonstrated managerial responsibility; experience as a member of or leader of functional project teams.
• Affinity with manufacturing or production environments; experience within the process industry (e.g. chemical, oil & gas, energy industries or similar).
• Fluent in Dutch and English, both verbal and written.
