Nobian is a producer of salt and chlor-alkali products in North-Western Europe. Our largest production location is Rotterdam, where approximately 250 employees work. This location has a pivotal role in the region. The Chlorine Caustic Utilities (CCU) plant in Rotterdam is one of the largest, most modern and safest electrolysis chlorine plants in the world. In addition, this plant supplies electricity, gas, steam and water to both internal and external customers.
Nobian in Rotterdam processes salt and produces, distributes chlorine, caustic soda, hydrogen, steam and electricity. Electricity is the basis of our production; we can play an important role in the electricity system of the future by producing our products when electricity is available (E-Flex). The safety and reliability of our processes are of paramount importance.
The CCU plays a central role within the chlorine cluster in the Rotterdam Botlek area. The safety and reliability of our processes are therefore of the utmost importance. Nobian aims to be a leader in the chemical industry when it comes to climate-neutral production. Already, a large part of our production is based on green electricity, making us the first Dutch producer to create green hydrogen.
