Your challenge
The (Senior) Well Engineer is accountable for well design, abandonment design, and drilling, well intervention, abandonment operations and programs in accordance with Nobian criteria and applicable Mijnbouwwet / NOGEPA regulations & standards.
Your main responsibilities include well integrity and control, operational HSE, quality and performance. The Senior Well Engineer ensures that procedures are technically and operationally sound and applicable to the specific well conditions, company standards, rules and regulations to continuously guarantee safe operations. You provide high-quality design that can be efficiently executed in a safe and cost-effective manner in line with project value drivers. Next to that, you carry out offset well data analysis and you will have detailed discussions with geologists and leaching specialists.
Your responsibilities
- Prepares well design and drilling/intervention programs. Communicate with service contractors about technical requirements, issues and changes to the design.
- Executes casing design, wellhead design, trajectory design, torque & drag, kick design, hydraulics analysis, drilling fluids design, BHA design.
- Monitors the daily progress of well operations, assist the WSS with operational challenges.
- Is accountable for the independent delivery according to the Well Delivery Process.
- Reviews WLE’s most complex and high-risk projects, initiates and manages major project assurance, provides independent assessment of well/operational design at critical points in the well-life-cycle and take appropriate corrective actions.
The Senior Well Engineer is part of the Well Lifecycle Engineering (WLE) team and reports hierarchically to the manager Well Lifecycle Engineering.

Have you got what it takes?
As (Senior) Well Engineer you have multiple years of relevant experience within well engineering. You have expertise in completion and well Intervention with a proven track record in well design, planning and execution delivery. Further to this you recognize yourself in the following points:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- In depth knowledge of applicable law/regulations and industry standards and guidelines (API & NOGEPA).
- Preferably knowledge of salt solution mining.
- Fluency in English, Dutch is a plus.
- Work in area Hengelo, flexible to work at other Nobian sites (Delfzijl/Mariager).
- Drivers license.
